We closed on the Harrington Property today, bringing us one step closer to preserving all the land on Big Talbot Island! The building on site will be used to house researchers studying in and around the Timucuan Preserve. In May, our first researchers will be there pursuing the elusive marsh mink.
Together here in this photo we have Adam Hoyles, our Board President, and Nan Harrington, the seller. Nan was Adam’s high school teacher and coach, and reintroducing these two after twenty years was one of the finest parts of the closing. We owe gratitude to Mrs. Diane Joy Milam Dennis and the Robert and Merial Milam Trust, without which the preservation of Big Talbot Island would not be possible.
